FLORENCE ESTHER FLANAGAN 10.106a, first daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Houston, Tex., Nov. 18, 1906. She married first, Perry Julius Bosarge, son of Perry Maxmillian Bosarge and Juliette Corinne (Graves) Bosarge, at Mobile, Ala., Oct. 14, 1935. He was born at Bayou la Batre, Mobile County, Ala., Dec. 3, 1910. He was educated at Bayou la Batre elementry schools and attended Wright's University Military School in Mobile. He was in the wholesale and retail seafood business until 1952, when failing health forced him to retire. He died in Mobile, May 18, 1954. Florence has a B. S. degree from the University of Alabama, and belongs to Kappa Delta Pi. She also has a master's degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and in 1968 was teaching general science in a high school in Mobile, and contributed much to this book. She married second, Joseph Franklin Long, son of Thomas Joseph Long and Ida (Chatham) Long, Sept. 15, 1973, at Springfield Avenue United Methodist Church, by Rev. Langdon Garrison, pastor. Joseph was born in Lauderdale County, Miss., Oct. 9, 1905. He retired from the Alabama State Conservation Department, as manager of the Fish Hatcheries in Mobile, and died Dec. 12, 1977.

JOHN PAUL FLANAGAN 10.106b, first son of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Bogalusa, La., Feb. 18, 1909. He married Margaret Mixon, daughter of John Mixon and Erma (Cleveland) Mixon, at Leaksville, Miss., in February of 1935. She was born at Mobile, Ala., about 1911. (See 10.106j). He was drowned while working as a machinist in a logging camp at Appalachicola, Fla., in October of 1943. Three children are reported:

ETHEL FAITH FLANAGAN 10.106c, second daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Vicksburg, Miss., Jan. 1, 1911. She married first, Benjamin Rufus Cromwell, son of Clara Mae (Massey) Cromwell, at Pascagoula, Miss., Sept. 5, 1933. He was born at Mobile, Ala., Sept. 15, 1906, and was drowned in Mississippi Sound, May 17, 1964, after they were divorced in Mobile, no date. He was buried in Bayou la Batre, La. BENJAMIN LLOYD FLANAGAN 10.106d, second son of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Bogalusa, La., Apr. 23, 1913. He died at Pritchard, Ala., Dec. 17, 1922, just 10-1/2 years old.

CATHERINE DOROTHY FLANAGAN 10.106e, third daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Bogalusa, La., Mar. 1, 1914. She married Albert Woodrow Crawley, son of Aaron William Crawley and Alma C. (Grady) Crawley, at Mobile, Ala., Apr. 11, 1946. He was born at Hattiesburg, Miss., Aug. 9, 1918. Catherine was graduated from Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing in 1938. She served with the Army Nurse Corps, spending 25 months overseas in England and France during World War II. Albert, known as A. W., was in the Merchant Marine and the Navy Reserve during World War II. Since their marriage he has built a good business in industrial and marine supplies. She died at Mobile, Feb. 22, 1972. They had three children:

CLARA GLADYS FLANAGAN 10.106f, fourth daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Bogalusa, La., Nov. 8, 1915. She married , son of James Andrew Price-Williams and Carobelle (Colsson) Price-William Warner Price-Williams, in Mobile, Ala., Jan. 30, 1932. He was born in Mobile County, Ala., Sept. 5, 1908. She is an active member of the Nazarene Church. Warner operates a truck freighting business in Mobile, Ala., and Pensacola, Fla. They have nine children:

LESTER GEORGE FLANAGAN 10.106h, fourth son of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Fraqnklin Flanagan, was born at Bogalusa, La., May 3, 1919, and died at Tallahassee, Fla., Aug. 5, 1963, aged 44 years. He married Lottie Mills, a daughter of L. Buster Mills and Willie Mae (Counts) Mills, at Tallahassee, date missing. She was born in Holmes County, Fla., Apr. 24, 1921, and is employed in the Legislative department of the State of Florida. Their two sons are:

JESSE LADDIE FLANAGAN 10.106i, fifth son of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Prichard, Ala., Oct. 19, 1921. He married first, no name or date. He married second, Helen Armistice Davenport, daughter of William Stewart Davenport and Mary Elizabeth Etta (McConnell) Davenport, at Lucedale, Miss., July 9, 1942. She was born at Porterville, Miss., Nov. 11, 1921. He retired in 1967 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. They have three children:

THEODORE LAWRENCE FLANAGAN 10.106j, sixth son of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Prichard, Ala., Apr. 15, 1923. he is known as "Teddy". and married Margaret (Mixon) Flanagan, daughter of John Mixon and Erma (Cleveland) Mixon, a widow of his deceased brother, John Paul 10.106b,at Mobile, Ala., Oct. 26, 1946. He made a career in the United States Air Force, is a senior master sergeant, and had a year of duty in the Philippine Islands. They had one son:

They were divorced. He retired from the Air Force, and in 1978 lived in Mobile, Ala.

MAY ROSE FLANAGAN 10.106k, fifth daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Prichard, Ala., May 16, 1924. She was an unwed mother of a daughter:

BETTY lEANNETTE FLANAGAN 10.106m, sixth daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born at Prichard, Ala., May 8, 1927. She married first Ronald Cornelius Kent III, son of Ronald Cornelius Kent II, at Mobile, Ala., Apr. --, 1943. They were divorced in Mobile in May of 1948. There were two children:

Betty married second, Charles Bolling Tab Moody, no date. He was born at Ocean Springs, Miss., Feb. 21, 1920. He is employed at the Immigration Division of the United States Department of Justice as an Inspector of Immigration. No children reported.

ROSE MARIE FLANAGAN 10.106n, adopted daughter of Winnie Pearl (Tryon) Flanagan 9.100e and Benjamin Franklin Flanagan, was born in Mobile, Ala., Mar. 16, 1945, and was legally adopted in March of 1948. Her father is Warner Price-Williams (see 10.106f). She attended Anderson College, majored in biology, minored in chemistry. She married Craig Hackney, son of Raymond Hackney, at Mobile, Oct. 8, 1967. He was born in 1945, and is employed as a mechanical draftsman. They have a son:

MAX TRYON 10.107a, son of Wesley Merritt Tryon 9.100f and Sylvia Ruth (Smith) Tryon, was born in Prince Georges County, Md., Mar. 27, 1921. He graduated with a B. S. degree in chemistry from Maryland University, served with Gen. Patton's 101st Infantry Regiment in Germany in World War II, entered the National Bureau of Standards in Washington, D. C., as a chemist, and married Mary Elizabeth "Tish" Green, daughter of Edward Eliot Green and Lottie Mae (Rothmyer) Green, in Washington, D. C., Feb. 27, 1948. She was born at Lakewood, Ohio, Apr. 23, 1924. He has co-authored several scientific papers at the Bureau of Standards. This couple are the parents of four children and live in Montgomery County, Md. On Mar. 31, 1976, Max retired, and he and Tish took a 6-week trip to Europe in 1977. He has bought a second home in Colorado Springs, Colo., and expects to alternate between Colorado and Maryland.

JEAN TRYON 10.107b, daughter of Wesley Merritt Tryon 9.100f and Sylvia Ruth (Smith) Tryon, was born in Washington, D. C., May 22, 1925. She graduated from Maryland University as a Home Economics major, belongs to Kappa Delta Sorority, and married her childhood sweetheart, James Hartman Bowen, son of John Jack Davis Bowen and Gertrude (Pursell) Bowen, in Washington, D. C., June 12, 1947. He was born in Washington, Mar. 13, 1922, served as a pilot in the Air Force during World War II, and again in Korea, when he was made Captain. After his service with the D. C. Air Guard during the Berlin crisis in 1961-62, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, from which he has retired. They live at present in Montgomery County, Md. In 1980 he retired from the Defense Department in the Pentagon in Washington. Jean is an accredited flower judge. Their three children are:

GEORGE FRANKLIN TRYON 10.109a, first son of Dewey McKinley Tryon 9.100h and Anna Barbara (Souder) Tryon, was born in New York, June 4, 1923. He served in the United States Army in World War II, and became a printer. He worked in the Government Printing Office in Washington, D. C., and in the Government Printing Office in the Panama Canal Zone. He married Wiltrud "Trudy" Loomis, daughter of James I,oomis and Hertha (---) Loomis, June 3, 1953. She was born June 8, 1924. He expects to retire from the Government Printing Office in Washington, D. C., in 1983. They have two children:

DEWEY TRYON, JR. 10.109b, second son of Dewey McKinley Tryon 9.100h and Anna Barbara (Souder) Tryon, was born in New York, Aug. 14, 1928. He served in the United States Navy from Nov. 26, 1946, to Nov. 27, 1951, as a "frogman" during the Korean "police action," so described by President Harry S. Truman, says Dewey. He married Alice Gnarowski, daughter of John Gnarowski and Catherine (Kosior) Gnarowski, at Jamaica, N. Y., Aug. 22, 1952. She was born at Jamaica, June 27, 1929. The name "Dewey Tryon, Jr." is as shown on his birth certificate. Their four boys are:

RUTH LEFEVER 10.115a, first daughter of Barnet Tanner LeFever 9.103c and Becky Jane (Thomas) LeFever, was born at Glouster, Ohio, Aug. 8, 1896. She became a school teacher, and married Bryan Nathaniel Watkins, son of John Monroe Watkins and Hattie (Daughterty) Watkins, at Athens, Ohio, May 29, 1918. He was born in Morgan County, Ohio, July 31, 1896, and they were divorced Nov. 3, 1934. She retired as a school teacher, and died at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, June 13, 1967, aged 70 years and 10 months. Interred in Union Cemetery, Columbus. They had two boys:

She was a school teacher, and married George Golding, son of James W. Golding and Clara E. (Goodman) Golding, at Columbus, Ohio, June 1, 1927. He was born Sept. 6, 1896, and died at Columbus, Apr. 18, 1942, aged 46 years. She is a Civil Service retiree and lives in Columbus. They had two children:

BLANCHE JANE LEFEVER 10.115d, third daughter of Barnet Tanner LeFever 9.103c and Becky Jane (Thomas) LeFever, was born in Trimble Township, Athens County, Ohio, Nov. 28, 1902. She married Ernest Elza Roberts, son of Francis Roberts and Bertha (Smith) Roberts, at Lancaster, Ohio, Dec. 6, 1922. He was born at Broadwell, Athens County, Ohio, Feb. 24, 1898, and died at Columbus, Ohio, Jan. 16, 1955, aged 57 years. She lives in Columbus. Their two children are:

She was born in Cook County, Ill, Nov. 17, 1915, and died in San Diego, Calif., Sept. 12, 1956. No children. He married second, Mildred Ellen Drake Law, at San Diego, June 5, 1959. She was born in Trenton, N. J., Dec. 28, 1911.

SHIRLEY EVAUGN TRYON 10.118e, third daughter of Alva B. Tryon 9.108b and Eliza Ellen (Culp) Tryon, was born in Pratt County, Kans., Mar. 10, 1913.

MARVIN EUGENE TRYON 10.118f, a twin, and third son of Alva B. Tryon 9.108b and Eliza Ellen (Culp) Tryon, was born in Pratt County, Kans., Apr. 1, 1916. He married first, Marion Gertrude Hoag, Sept. 9, 1940. She was born in Walla Walla County, Wash., Sept. 12, 1921. They were subsequently divorced, and he married second, Alice Ester Wagoner, in Jackson County, Oreg., Nov. 22, 1955. She was born in Prairie County, Mont., Oct. 2, 1928. WILLIAM CHARLES TRYON 10.123a, first son of Charley Floyd Tryon 9.108g and Ethel Janette (Chinn) Tryon, was born in Union County, N. Mex., Aug. 10, 1916. At age 48 he married Eugenia Barnett, at Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 2, 1964.

He was formerly married to Katherine "Kitty" ---, and they had a son: Lawrence Eugene Grill. Carl Frank died in Princess County, Va., Jan. --, 1971. Elsie married second, Theodore Alvin Chervenka at Baytown, Tex., Mar. 10, 1957, and they were divorced on Sept. 29, 1959. One daughter to this couple:

She was born at E1 Dorado, Butler County, Kans., May 19, 1923, and is a daughter of Thomas W. Perry and Addie (Brett) Perry. He is an electrical engineer with Humble Oil and Refining Co., at Baytown, Tex. They have six children:

NANCY RUTH BEST 10.170a, daughter of Wilbur Hugh Morton Best 9.146c and Ruth (Seofield) Best, was born May 7, 1953. She was working in a bank in Worehester, Mass., in 1967.
